The Latest at the Library,...
Thank You!
The St. Pat's Library team, school staff, and students would like to thank the Holy Trinity Board of Education for the gift of money to purchase books for our library. The books have now all arrived and the months ahead will be very busy. The books include fiction, non-fiction, topics for Religion, ELA and other curricula. We are so blessed!
This month, students are voting for their favourite Willow Awards titles. Winning schools receive a full set of next year's Willow picks for our age levels. It seems that Scaredy Squirrel has been quite popular. To prepare for the vote, Mrs. Audette has been reading them to all age levels. Ask your child what they voted for!
This month, Mrs. Audette featured books about First Nations, two authors, the virtue of the month, Willow Award picks, Valentine's Day and Black History month. She is usually researching videos to add variety to presentations about virtues. Students love the variety!
In the role of Resource-Based Learning Teacher, Mrs. Andree has been busy also. She has co-planned a unit of study about Structures and Materials for Grade Three. She continues to work with all Grade Fours on research about the various regions of Saskatchewan. She has prepared a book for use with Grade One classrooms about First Nations foods. For Grade Two, she has planned a mini-unit about First Nations treaties. Grade Ones have learned how to log-on to the computers in the lab. She has helped Grade Fives to complete powerpoint presentations for the provinces of Canada.
Ask about the new library materials. We'd love to show you all that's new and exciting.
Stop in and have a read!
